A type of stainless steel pipe obtained through honing process is called stainless steel honing pipe. In the honing process of stainless steel honing pipes, the use of honing tools is quite common, among which a commonly used one is the honing gear. The honing gear is composed of a base and abrasives. The main purpose of using it for honing is to clean impurities and burrs from the material surface, thereby improving surface smoothness.
However, when using this type of honing tool, the stroke of the equipment should not exceed the width range during honing; otherwise, it may severely damage the honing gear. The control of honing amount should keep its value within a reasonable range. Moreover, the control of honing time is similarly required, with a recommendation of around two minutes.
The material of the honing gear is relatively brittle, so it is strictly forbidden to strike it to avoid damage that renders it unusable. Furthermore, selecting suitable honing oil stones and controlling roughness within the normal allowable range can meet the above requirements. However, in certain cases, attention should still be paid to the material used for the honing pipe and the hardness of the material to consider comprehensively and avoid problems.
Many people do not pay much attention to the surface issues when choosing stainless steel honing pipes. In fact, surface issues have a significant impact on the use and lifespan of stainless steel honing pipes. Generally, small holes may appear on the surface of our stainless steel honing pipes, so we should choose pipes with low corrosion levels, and the inner wall of the pipes should be as thick as possible.
Generally, the stainless steel honing pipes we use are relatively thin, which leads to the formation of air holes on the surface of the pipes. We can increase the thickness and diameter of the pipes to reduce the attachment points of air holes, preventing them from appearing on the surface. It is advisable to further process the pipes to reduce the occurrence of air holes, pitting, and other defects, thereby improving the production efficiency and quality of the pipes.
